New Teacher Academy Welcomes Educators to the La Joya ISD Family

La Joya, TX - Before students fill classrooms and the first bell rings, La Joya ISD is investing in the educators who will help shape the future of thousands of students. Today, the district welcomed its newest teachers during its New Teacher Academy, an immersive orientation designed to prepare educators for a successful start to the 2026-2027 school year.
The academy provided new-to-the-profession and new-to-the-district teachers with the opportunity to build meaningful connections, explore district resources, and gain a deeper understanding of the culture, expectations, and support systems that make La Joya ISD a destination for educational excellence.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in sessions focused on instructional resources, professional development, employee benefits, district initiatives, strategic priorities, and the instructional framework that guides teaching and learning across the district.
"Our teachers have the greatest impact on student success, and our New Teacher Academy is about ensuring they begin their journey at La Joya ISD feeling prepared, supported, and inspired," said Anna Marie Candelario, Deputy Chief of School Leadership. "By investing in our educators from day one, we are strengthening classrooms, building meaningful relationships, and reinforcing our shared commitment to providing every student with the high-quality education they deserve."

As the new school year approaches, La Joya ISD remains dedicated to supporting educators through ongoing professional learning, collaboration, and instructional excellence. By investing in its teachers, the district continues to strengthen the foundation for student achievement while advancing its Achieving Excellence Together: 2030 Strategic Plan and ensuring educational excellence remains the right of every student.
